Donate to the ACA
Renée Gier had an extraordinary commitment to the theatre, and particularly to young actors and the fellows who studied at the Academy for Classical Acting (ACA) at Shakespeare Theatre Company. Renee was so generous - she’d offer them her couch, her food, whatever they needed to get by.
Renee spent her life helping young actors, many of whom are successful today as a result. Let’s create a legacy to our dear friend that honors what she cared about so deeply. Please give generously by clicking the link or sending a check made out to Shakespeare Theatre Company, 516 8th Street, SE, Washington, DC 20003, indicating Renee Gier Scholarship/ACA in the memo line.
Program development and scholarships for the ACA are made possible through the generosity of our community. As we work to recruit the most promising classical actors in the country, we have become keenly aware that extraordinary talent can be found in artists from every walk of life and lived experience. Despite intensive recruiting efforts with a focus on diversity and full-scale inclusion, the program cost excludes many otherwise talented but underrepresented artists from attending the program. Please consider making a donation to the Academy for Classical Acting to make it possible for the ACA to better represent the diverse and expansive world in which we live.
